JC: Junior College

J of #AtoZChallenge  When I was in school my idea of college was heavily influenced by movies especially Ishq Vishk (which was far more realistic than Dil Chahta Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and even Remix!) I remember my two years of Junior College in bits and pieces. It was almost like walking into a colourful, youth movie set. There were all sorts of teenagers wearing cool outfits, some wearing no-brainer normal outfits, some trying to be fashionable and some just being themselves. I think the idea of 'not wearing a uniform' was itself daunting. I couldn't believe I had to make an effort of thinking what should I wear every day to college. And feel as if I was going to be judged every day! I would secretly feel like Gabriella from High School Musical and would wonder if people would randomly start jumping and dancing all around!  My college was a huge quadrangular building with dark, cool corridors, breezy second and third floors, an air-conditioned auditorium,...

Hugging the Himalayas

*Crump*  *Crip* *Kudum*  The leaves and the twigs broke under my shoes. I was panting and puffing and sweating. Ashu dada called out, “We are almost there!”  I put my head down and kept climbing until there was no more to climb.   “Guys, you got to see this!”  I raised my head and lost my breath.  We were standing atop a hill overlooking the the magnificent snow mountains. The Dhauladhar range covered in white swept across our eyes. The sky was a true ‘sky blue’ and the sun shone on the tallest of the peaks.  I was in heaven!  And to prove that the cities lay on the other side cramped up like little ants.  At Triund  and Photograph by me :)  Once I had gotten my bag in my yellow tent I sat outside and lay on my back  watching the soft fluffy white clouds breeze by, taking in every bit of the snow wonder. The snow mountains looked no less than a bowl of vanilla ice cream sprinkled with choco chips...

Musafir Hoon Yaaron...

Many a times I come up with new theories... theories on all stuff in life... when i get into the" all philosophical mode"... so many times while my order is still to come on the table i read around from the frames hanging on the hotel walls... one-liners that say, "Life is like an onion, it has many layers to it!" or the most common that we get to read in our school slam books( wherein some philo friend has given you a bookish advice of, " Life is like an ice-cream. Relish every lick of it!!" Im somehow obsessed and and in love with the word"COLOURS" (the one with a "u" in it...the Brit spelling)and all the words in it's family- colourful, colours, shades, colourey...it makes me feel cheerful and jolly... gets a smile on my face :) I always built a theory called the "colour theory"! the one where i went on to say "Life is colourful... you have all the shades in it...dark shades, warm shades, cool shades, light shades....
